About
My Practice
You are here on this page because you believe
that, with some effective and competent intervention, you can
take charge of what is difficult for you right now and find
some peace.
You may be troubled by your own mind
states and wonder how you can alter them or at the very least
change your relationship to them and feel better.
You may want to improve relationships
with others, a partner, a child, a boss.
You may have
suffered a loss and need support while you find new footing
for yourself.
For any of these quests and others, my
own experience as a professional helper has convinced me that
psychotherapy, as I practice it, works. Why? Because it puts
you at the centre of a relationship that has one goal – the
betterment of your life!!
When you and I sit down to tackle your
difficulties, here is what I pledge to you:
~ I will attend to you completely and
compassionately
~ What is most important to you
becomes most. important to me; everything we discuss will
serve your highest interests.
~ All behaviour makes sense especially
to the person exhibiting it – nothing you can tell me will
shock me
~ Therefore my responses to you will
be without. judgment and will ensure that your dignity stays
intact
~ My methods are collaborative; they
will seek to engage your will, to help you discover your
heart’s inner truth in what you are presenting.
~ How much you and I accomplish will
depend on the quality of the relationship you and I build;
and therefore I will be totally committed to nurturing our
alliance.
~ The act of asking for help can
result in miracles!! And I believe in those miracles.
Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance
to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all
acts of initiative and creation there is one elementary truth
the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid
plans; that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then
Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help
one that would never otherwise occurred. A whole stream
of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour
all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material
assistance, which no one could have dreamed would have come
his or her way. ~ Goethe
