There is a direct link between how
we care for our bodies and how we feel mentally and
emotionally.
Food, for example can be 50% of the remedy for
difficult mind states such as anxiety and depression. I teach my clients how
to eat in ways that will help them feel better on all
levels.
Providing the body with proper
exercise is the next 25% of the solution. I support my clients
in finding a system of physical culture that they can get
excited about and thereby stick
to.
The last 25% percent of the remedy
has to do with how we see the world in general, our belief
system and how much we tend to identify with habitual,
negative thoughts and feelings (Tolle, 1994). We explore answers to
the question: “What do I really believe about my
existence?” So,
we look at our spiritual selves and the sense/meaning we make
of our lives. We
discuss faith as well.
I am also quite big on
eco-psychology.
What do I mean here? Most of us live in
large metropolitan areas. Here we forget that we
are a part of the natural world. This fact alone can
make us crazy.
So, together we consider antidotes to urban life and
how to remember our natural
selves.
